My copy of Spore won't work.?

I just acquired Spore for the computer but I can't get it to open. I installed it but can't play it. I go to MyComputer and click on the icon and it takes me to a bunch of files. The only one that makes any sense is "Autorun" underneath that it says "Spore Launcher: Electronic Arts Inc." Am I doing the wrong thing or is it just not working?
