My sims 3 generations game isn't working!?

Do you know your computer specs? It sounds to me like either a RAM or video card issue, but can't be sure without more details. Also if you're on Vista/7, are you running it as administrator? If you can get to a settings menu, also try running it on low graphics and in windowed mode.
