Why can't i play games??? or use internet explorer?

ok, I've had this problem for about a month now and my friend has it too, every time i try to open internet explorer it won't load any websites but it works with firefox so this isn't a big problem, my big problem is i can't play games.... i play world of warcraft and my subscription ends on the 24th and i want to play it just a little more before the summer, every time i open up the wow launcher it says something like can't connect to internet or something like that and it doesn't just happen with wow it happens with any MMO game i try to play i can't get passed the launcher...
