Boyfriends grandpas may die tonight unexspectedly. what do i do?

If his grampa dies of cardiac problems tonight what do I do? He won't want to talk until tomorrow or a couple days and I understand its his last grandparent and he loves him dearly. But my bfs been going though a hard time and has been diagnosed with depressions and he'd been down a couple weeks now. What do I do? How do I not push him away and be there for him? What would your girl friend to do in this situation?
