Is an EMT a higher level of Care than an LPN?

I have been an EMT for 5 years and have several certificates in ITLS, PEPP, AMLS, and BLS. I think that EMT are better trained in emergency care, but nurse are trained more toward looking at the patient as a whole. There are some procedures that EMT can do that i dont believe LPN can do, such as intabation with advance airways. They both give drugs, EMT is more of emergecny drugs where LPN give patients there daily drugs such as hypertension drugs, renal drugs, cardiac drugs and so on. And i hate when someone compares me to an CNA, a nurse aid cant hold a candle to the skills that an EMT has been trained in.

i go to the website and click download, when i click on the download for windows (minecraft.exe) it starts the launcher and when i log in another screen pops up. Can you uninstall Sims 3 without deleting custom content from the launcher?

I'm having issues with my .sims3packs and they are not showing up in my game. This just started happening after I installed the latest patch. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all of the CC in my launcher multiple times and none of my .sims3packs have showed up. I can't get a software to find any corrupted content because no software has been released for mac yet. If anyone has any other solutions instead of having to uninstall sims 3 that would be greatly appreciated, but can you also tell me if you can uninstall sims 3 without deleting CC from the launcher. I just acquired Spore for the computer but I can't get it to open. I installed it but can't play it. I go to MyComputer and click on the icon and it takes me to a bunch of files. The only one that makes any sense is "Autorun" underneath that it says "Spore Launcher: Electronic Arts Inc." Am I doing the wrong thing or is it just not working?

You need winrar or 7 zip to extract the unless they are from the exchange then you can click on it and it will install. Otherwise you need winrar and 7 zip downloaded on your computer. Once you downloaded one of the two programs you need to right click on the download and click extract here once you do that it will install into the game. And that's it. If it still not working then maybe it's something wrong with the downloads. The exchange is very buggy so I reccomend using modthesims instead the stuff isn't as buggy but be careful downloading mods though. And do you have the required expansion packs for the game that could also cause the error.

My Puppy died two days after receiving vaccines?

I bought a 3 month old puppy on a Friday from a pet store, I took her to the vet the next Tuesday and had her vaccinated for Rabies, Lepto, and Distemper. When I left the vet no reactions had occurred and the puppy was eating and playing, that was on Tuesday. Wednesday the same thing she was eating and playing no complaints. Thursday I went to work only to find out that the dog was vomiting, later developed diarrhea. By the time I left work the same day I found my puppy in a lethargic state with severe diarrhea and vomiting. (With constant encouraging and even trying to place food near her mouth she refused to eat)Took her to the emergency vet services only to find out that her Sugar was so low from decreased appetite that she ended having several seizures. They had to keep her overnight while I made plans to transfer her to another vet service due to the expenses. The day after Friday( 1 wk from when I bought her) I go in to the emergency vet to pay my balance and she goes into Cardiac Arrest, CPR was performed and she didn't make it. I forgot to add I had already made an appointment at her regular vet for the same Friday for a check-up. Now I'm left with decreased appetite myself and find myself crying over and over. I goggled several scenarios about the vaccines and found out that severe reactions include Severe Diarrhea/Vomiting, Epilepsy/Seizures, Anaphylactic reactions and etc... That will probably change throughout your college career and especially, if you get into med school, as you do your rotations. Three times a day seems a bit excessive for a kid but I don't think you are going overboard about brushing. It is important that he starts the habit at a young age. Obviously, if his mom had made him do it when he was little then it probably wouldn't be a problem now. I agree that charts are too young for him. Unfortunately, you will just have to be on his back until he does it. Make sure it is part of his "getting ready in the morning" and "getting ready for bed" routine. If you ask him every time and make him stop what he is doing to brush his teeth, I think he will catch on pretty quickly.

The doctors treat him with an extremely strong chemotherapy, to the point where his white blood cell count is very dangerously low, the doctors decide to not put him in a sterilized room (a fishbowl), and take little to no precaution as to the weakness of his immune system. The man comes down with a virus, the virus attacks his kidneys, and during the treatment for his virus which had multiple symptoms ( yellow eyes, foul-smelling urine) and was left untouched for a while, the man goes into cardiac arrest 4 times, and the family decides that he cannot take this torture of getting revived anymore, for all his ribs are cracked and he is in chronic pain. The man dies, but this all could have been avoided if he was put into a sterilized room like he obviously needed to be, is this malpractice?(this is a real situation so please no insensitive/mean answers)

I download the mod, click extract to the data folder, and it'll give me a bunch of errors and not extract it to the data folder. So I extract it to a separate folder, and then drag all of the contents of the mod file into the data folder, and when I run the oblivion launcher it doesn't show up in the data files. Sims 3 Problem! Help?

I have been playing Sims 3 on this laptop for a year, and never had any problems. Yesterday, I double-clicked Sims 3 to bring up the launcher, so I could play. The second I did that, my whole computer screen goes dark black, and starts flashing back and forth from dark black to dark grey. I can't exit out or anything, and end up having to force shut off my laptop (by holding the power button down until it shuts off). Thinking it had to do with my CD/DVD drive, I ran the Sims 2. it works perfectly. Any ideas why this is happening?

What degree in the healthcare field should I secure my degree in?

I don't want a Nurses degree, or Healthcare administration jobs, nor Medical assistant, nor Patient care technician. Absolutely nothing to do with blood and needles. I have narrowed it down to these two fields and I need a little more confidence before choosing. First, a DTR( Dietitian Technician)this requires only an associates degree but makes only 25k-30k a year. a RD(registered dietitian) I hear they make upwards of 50k a year. There is not a huge job market demand for these positions, but Americans aren't getting any healthier :-) and the job seekers for these positions are not numerous. Or seek a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. An associates degree will leave me with the basics and further education can branch into specialties, cardiac, respiratory, gynecology. The earning potential with this degree I feel is a lot less limited than that of the Dietetics field. I am most passionate about the Dietetics but feel an urge to seek a better paying degree. Anyone with any personal experience with either field can you help guide me to the best decision for me? Thanks!

I have an irregular heartbeat but only sometimes. A yard, no matter what the size, simply becomes a giant kennel after a while....so it's normal for some dogs to become extremely bored and find other ways to entertain themselves.

A lump snaking out of lower left ribs?

I am a 25/f. In decent health, par a few things. For over a year I have had near daily chest pain, nothing major most of the time, but sometimes it takes my breath away, always on the left side. I don't suspect it is cardiac related because of normal EKG's and blood work, also paired with the fact that most of the time I can recreate the pain by pressing on my chest. About 8 months ago, I started getting an uncomfortable feeling under my left ribs, it never really goes away and is frankly annoying. A few months ago I noticed a lump snaking out of the last two ribs on the left side. It is not painful, feels kind of like a tube and sits in between and on the lower ribs. I have seen numerous drs, been to the ER more times than I can count. Sometimes the pain in my chest scares me into a panic attack. Now it seems everytime I am in extreme pain they rule it as a panic attack, but I know there is something else going on. I am tired all the time, I started having dizzy moments and moments of confusion. I had a head CT after a severe headache with neck pain and that was normal as well. My husband is starting to think that this is all in my head, and it is scaring the **** out of me. I have an 8 year old son and I am scared that I am not going to be around. The last CT I had done on my abdomen showed nothing of any consequence other than an enlarged bile duct from my galbladder. As I am writing this, I just got a sudden twinge in my head that feels like it is being put into a vice right at my temples. Its like I can feel it pulsating. I take anxiety meds every now and then when I need to, and try to remain calm most of the time, but these ailments are bothering me.

My grandad suffered a heart attack 3 days ago, but he thought the chest pain was from acidity or heartburn so he didn't say anything. They finally took him to the hospital and now he is in the intensive care unit. He also happens to suffer from diabetes. And now they reported that his kidneys aren't functioning normally. He is conscious but I'm really scared. What are the chances of survival after something like this happens.

Why won't the sims 3 open on my Mac?

So I have the Sims 3 with Late Night. I wanted to play it one day and I did, but then the next day, I tried to open it up, but it wouldn't even go to the game launcher! I want to start running but I'm afraid I'll have a heart attack?

I'm an 18 year old female. 5'4 about 138 pounds. I'm not in horrible shape but I'm also not in the best of shape. I'd like to start either running or jogging a mile a day. I started researching running/jogging to find out about how to start, build endurance, and how to breathe ect. I've come across many articles and people talking in forums about how many people have heart attacks and sudden cardiac death from running. This has me a bit scared to even start. What degree in the healthcare field should I secure my degree in?

I don't want a Nurses degree, or Healthcare administration jobs, nor Medical assistant, nor Patient care technician. Absolutely nothing to do with blood and needles. I have narrowed it down to these two fields and I need a little more confidence before choosing. First, a DTR( Dietitian Technician)this requires only an associates degree but makes only 25k-30k a year. a RD(registered dietitian) I hear they make upwards of 50k a year. There is not a huge job market demand for these positions, but Americans aren't getting any healthier :-) and the job seekers for these positions are not numerous. Or seek a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. An associates degree will leave me with the basics and further education can branch into specialties, cardiac, respiratory, gynecology. The earning potential with this degree I feel is a lot less limited than that of the Dietetics field. I am most passionate about the Dietetics but feel an urge to seek a better paying degree. Anyone with any personal experience with either field can you help guide me to the best decision for me? Thanks!

Okay you guys. This is serious.i live in the desert hot heat,I was in my pool with no sunscreen or anything! I got a huge sunburn all down the front of my body! Even on my shoulders. It hurts to put any clothes on or lay down. The other day I went walking with my friend and I took off my shirt and noticed that I had little bumps everywhere down the front of my body! I don't consider myself an Atheist as I do not deny the possibility of any deity/s, nor do I agree that they exist. I choose to take the theory that presents the most evidence at the time, which at the moment is not in favor of any existing deity/s. Having said that, I am studying neuro-science and myself and my mother have had very similar experiences. I don't think the story is fabricated - in fact it's known around the world to happen(maybe just exaggerated a little or simplified too much for this forum). At the moment I have not read enough evidence on the subject to suggest exactly how or why our brains do that, nor do I see it as evidence that any deity/s exist. I too, don't find the statement that 'our brain does funny things' to be a satisfactory argument for how or why this happens, but I do think that science will come up with evidence to at least try to explain the phenomenon (if it hasn't already). I realize I haven't really answered your question but it's not something one can answer truthfully without any real evidence on the subject - just like you can't prove that God exists. I am a spiritual person in that I do believe in 'souls', just not in the way that traditional religious organizations do (in fact what I believe in would probably be viewed similarly to the way the church views the occult) I could go on, but that's another story. It's an interesting phenomenon and I wish I knew more, so I will be looking forward to reading everybody else's comments on this.

Problem with acid reflux?

about once or a few times a day i have this really strange thing, I don't know if its heart burn or acid reflux because it doesn't burn. After i eat sometimes i feel i need to burp and so i try and vomit come into my throat but i quickly swallow it cause i feel it at the bottom of my throat and stop and swallow. it happens even when i bend down sometimes i vomit in my mouth a little its messed up!.....Anyone know what it is it does't burn and i never fully vomit. what will stop it its annoying and gross

soo... I disconnected from the server today to stop some lag, and when i went to connect back it gave me some error. Mouth pimple or herpes?

About a week ago, I got a single growth on the inside of my lower lip. It died down after a few days (it seemed to be irritated by the mouthwash I use) and then when I started using the mouthwash again, it flared up. I tried popping it today, thinking it might be a pimple, and it bled. I've been looking online about distinguishing characteristics between mouth pimples and herpes -- it seems rare to get mouth pimples inside the lip, but it's a single growth, which makes me think (hopefully!) that it isn't herpes, which usually clusters. Are there more signs I should be looking for? Is there something I can definitively do to judge whether it's a mouth pimple or herpes (short of seeing a doctor; I'm not in my home state right now and am staying here for a pretty short while, so I'm reluctant to go through the hassle of finding a physician). Hey guys.. I'm 20 & I think I'm addicted to cheeseburgers (all laughing aside). My mom buys those packs of frozen burgers from Sams Club, and I eat alot of them, sometimes two a day (mostly in summer due to the grill). It's just such an easy snack to prepare because I also use a George Foreman grill when in a pinch, it it can go from frozen to on a bun in 5 minutes flat. For a snack, I'll have a cheeseburger, and for dinner maybe 2 on a good day. I just made one now for a midnight-snack & I almost cried while eating it. I'm afraid I'm going to have a heart attack. I'm 6' 0", 180lbs, so I'm very average for my age/height, & I'm skinny, I'm just afraid my body cannot take any more of them. My parents are always at work so there's not much food around & like I said they're so easy to prepare it's hard saying no. In the past 3 months I'd say I've consumed around 35 (don't laugh because I'm being completely serious). I am very active & ride alot of mountain bike offroad on trails. Why is my The Sims 3 PC game not working?

Yesterday, I installed the latest update for The Sims 3, not knowing it was a Mac-only update (I have a PC). After it updated, I clicked the "play" button on the launcher and it said "Your The Sims 3 base game is not compatible with this expansion pack. Please update your game via the game launcher." I went to the update section and it said "Your game is up to date". So, I searched some stuff on the internet on how to fix the problem, and somebody had a link to update the game to an older version. It updated the game, but now when I click play it says "You need to insert The Sims 3 Late Night expansion pack disc!". Late Night is the latest EP I have for The Sims 3, and I had bought it as a Direct Download through the EA online store. So, I do not know what to do. It will not let me play the game. Constant Chronic Left Sided Chest Pain?

I have had constant burning chest pain for over a year now and I mean constant, no breaks whatsoever. Its in the center just about a inch to the left. I have had every test imaginable, ekg, echo, nuclear stress test, cardiac cath, ct scans, blood work .. everything has come back fine. It is getting worse and almost unbearable, I always feel my heartbeat all the time sometimes it feels like it thumps in my chest real hard. I have no stress in my life except for wondering what this could be. It hurts so bad that I sometimes just break out in a sweat. The pain never leaves me and I don't know what else to do. I have no insurance so I cant afford the Pain Dr that they want me to go to. Anybody have any idea as to what this could be. I am so miserable and it hurts and its affecting my quality of life. I just want answers and the Dr's don't seem to have any except maybe nerve damage but no explanation how this could of happened.

I hate periods....IN SCHOOL !!!!! and need help please?!?

Ok soooo, i started my period last summer and since then it has been EXTREMELY heavy :( in school i have usually spent the heaviest days at home or at school, not being able to move very much for fear of a leakage. I also don't like having to change my pad at school because i always go to the toilet with friends ( which sounds weird, we just walk there together and go in different cubicles. OBVIOUSLY!) but none of my friends have started and the pad makes a very loud noise! And im also worried about odour. I wear a few around the outside of the knickers so it doesnt roll around :/in the daytime i wear EXTRA absorbent night time pads, which arent the comfiest, but its better than leaking! GYM CLASS (by the way im 12 and are in an all girls high school) okay so tomorrow i have rounders club and i have to go - at lunchtime btw- in pe i just try not to move around too much! I can only go to the toilet every 2 hours! My period should ebd about this friday as i started today in school. I dont want to miss school tomorrow as we are doing this important thing. Also tomorrow we are cooking for our teachers and i find that kind of gross seen as im on it ! So please could i have any tips on how to deal with it in school please please please! Thankyou xx

When you have Anxiety, why do Panic Attacks seem to worsen every time they occur?

I'm going to a class later this month to help control it, but it seems to worsen every time it occurs and lasts longer than the last one. I know I'm healthy, I'm 15, physically fit, and no Cardiac diseases from my last check-up which was no longer than 1 1/2 weeks ago. But in the meantime, what is the best way to control it? Constant burning chest pain?

Im in the exact situation and I have also had evey test and blood work, but I was diagnosed with acid reflux and a chest and neck injury but im not sure why because I haven't had any accidents. Acid reflux causes burning behind the breastbone, in some people it's constant and in others the heartburn comes and goes. I also notice that when I bend down or lay down the pain gets worst. With the chest injury it has to do with strecthing of the muscles, maybe from heavy lifting, an accident, excercise, or anything that puts pressure on your muscles that they can't handle. I also get the tingling in my head and chest, feels like pins, but they can't find anything so I stopped stressing about and maybe you should too.because stress and anxiety can cause the symptoms to become worse or add new symtoms. I've started taking calcium and fiber supplements and doing light excercises to strenghten my muscles and bones as well as getting plenty of sleep. Hope you get something from this:)

I'm a freshman in high school in Texas that has year round schooling. Computer Start-Up Problems?

Okay, my computer is having weird start up problems. I'll start it up, everything will load, but nothing will respond. My taskbar/toolbar (whatever you call it) only fills up 2/3 of the way; Malwarebytes will be the last thing to show up. When I try to start up a program I'll get a never-ending time symbol and nothing will respond afterwards. Then I restart it using the power button and it repeats. However, EVERY time the third start-up starts normally. The missing toolbar/taskbar icons are IOBit Malware Fighter, Local Area Connection 2 (A network cable is unplugged message), Wireless Connection icon, and SOE Station Launcher. This isn't a major problem as of now considering it doesn't take long to restart it 3 times, but I fear it may escalate. Help and suggestions, please?

It's up to you if you want to mention the cutting to the counselor. They may refer you to a psychiatrist to get a professional diagnosis and medicines. Once you are more stable, they will start Cognitive Behavior Therapy to help overcome the traumas of the past, flashbacks, and quality of life improvement. This is definitely the path you should take to get better, and have a normal life. It will take some time to find the right medicine mix for you, as everyone is different. The cutting is an emotional release, and as long as you keep the cuts clean and minor, then the impact should be relatively small.
